Bangs, Barrettes + Beyond: NYFW Hair Predictions from Celeb Hairstylist Valery Joseph

New York Fashion Week is around the corner.

Celebrity hairstylist Valery Joseph, founder of Valery Joseph Salons and Valery Joseph Haircare, sees the below NYFW hair predictions for Fall 2024:

Bangs, Bangs & Bangs

NYFW always brings the edginess to the city, and this goes the same for hair. He predicts seeing a lot of bangs on the runway this year.

“Bangs are trending: blunt bangs, curtain bangs, side bangs. There is a style that suits every face shape,” says Joseph. If you’re inspired to cut bangs on your own, always consult with your go-to stylist first. “Your hairstylist should be able to guide you on which bang style would work best for your face and hair type,” he notes.

Runway Volume

We’re expecting to see tons of texture and lengths on the runway, and he’s expecting to see short cuts with tons of body.

“A short, wispy haircut works great with almost every face shape due to its feathery layers,” says Joseph. We can expect styles like these to be showcased on models on the runway. “Give any bob or lob a more edgy and high- fashion feel by adding a texturizing spray or paste to the ends. This will give much more body and volume.”
